Hastelloy Alloy X Washers are made of a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy known for its high-temperature strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The composition of Hastelloy X washers typically includes about 47% nickel, 22% chromium, 18.5% iron, 9% molybdenum, and smaller amounts of other elements such as cobalt, silicon, and tungsten. The addition of these elements gives Hastelloy X Washers their unique combination of properties.

Besides, Hastelloy X Flat Washers are used in various industrial applications, such as heat exchangers, mixing tanks, metal cleaning and pickling equipment, and piping. It is especially useful in corrosive environments, such as acid chlorides, solvents, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine solutions. For wrought forms of HASTELLOY X, the alloy is heat-treated at 2150 deg F (1177 deg C) and rapidly cooled. Annealing at temperatures lower than the solution heat-treating may cause precipitation of secondary phases, which can reduce strength and ductility. Moreover, it is also resistant to chloride stress-corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. Several grades of Hastelloy washers are available, like Hastelloy C276 Washers, Hastelloy B3 Washers, etc.

This nickel-molybdenum-chromium wrought alloy is a versatile corrosion-resistant material that can withstand some of the most extreme environments. It notably resists oxidizers such as ferric and cupric chlorides, solvents, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine solutions, while maintaining an acceptable level of tensile strength. Formed from wrought materials, these Hastelloy UNS N06002 Washers can be forged or hot-worked, although the latter requires rapid cooling to preserve its properties. Similarly, welded Hastelloy X can be achieved using various techniques such as gas metal arc (GMAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and resistance welding.
